DESCRIPTION:The FOFA Gallery will present CONTESTED SITE: ARCHIVES AND
  THE CITY, an exhibition programmed concurrently with the Universities
  Art Association of Canada conference (UAAC).  UAAC is held at a diff
 erent university each year and is the largest Canadian conference for 
 scholars and practitioners in the fine arts.\nThrough photography, vid
 eo, printmaking, drawing, storytelling, performance, and dog parks, th
 e artists involved in CONTESTED SITE: ARCHIVES AND THE CITY make clear
  how artists perform as researchers as well as producers of cultural c
 ontent. The exhibition looks closely at this relationship and showcase
 s the diverse outcomes produced by Concordia’s fine arts community i
 ncluding both current and past faculty, staff, students and alumni. Th
 e works exhibited in this show highlight the emerging phenomenon of re
 search/creation, which is redefining institutions, pedagogy, funding a
 gencies and artistic practice in a reflexive manner, as perhaps a cont
