A Musical Canon (performed by cows) is one more "Sesame Street" spot that I worked on as technical director and cameraman, produced through Peter Wallach Enterprises by Marie Plagianos. Old fashioned rotoscoping was used in conjunction with traditional cel animation and in camera traveling mattes bi-packed in an Oxberry animation stand to create the illusion of singing cows.

From my first year teaching "Experimental Animation" at Pratt Institute, this short made in 2001 is a composition in collaborative chaos of works shot with a Bolex and then reprocessed and enhanced on the Oxberry camera.
Music: "Murder Beach USA" by Famous Monsters.
Title design & additional sound by Jeff Starr.
Note: film ends at 2:00 min. but for some reason there is an additional 30 sec. of audio.

"New's Cool 04"

An animated short film created with students at The New School in my Experimental Animation Workshop. We shot with a 16mm Bolex camera in Washington Square Park, single frame pixilation on B&W film and added colors and effects by contact printing the Bolex footage through an Oxberry onto color stock.
